HP: 40
Armor: None
Power: None
Range: 5 spaces in any direction.
Blocking: 100%(50% while in focus)
Purpose: When focused on it's range of target, while a unit moves on these tiles, instead of just taking 1 movement per tile, it takes two.
Attack Formation: When a tile is picked, That tile, and every tile, touching it is in affect by the Friction Ward and causes friction in this area.
Suggestions are needed, needs inprovement i think.

Units in focus have 0% blocking. Full stop.

Before they have, doesn't mean they have to now.

Couple things, focused units can't block, and nobody would use this, it just doesn't do enough. It's an ok unit and all, but i just can't see using up a unit space for that. As for improvements...
Honestly i think the ward needs to be scraped, but the friction idea isn't too bad, maybe a mage that whenever he damages a unit their movement gets cut in half rounded down (not stackable) until they get healed.

Ok the point of focus is that it has to concentrate on the spell.
Try holding a spell and lifting a 50 pound shield to block a sword or arrow.
i mean a 0 power dragon makes a unit lose focus...
i really like using "...":D

I agree... units in focus shouold not block... period.
As for suggestions, try this.
Any unit hit with the friction ward gains the following status effects;
Movement = movement*.5
Blocking = Blocking * .5
Power = Power * .5
Slap a recovery time on that sucker, and make it a permanent effect. Get rid of the focus thing altogether. Don't be afraid to give it a little spice. ^^
Then I might consider putting one in instead of another unit.

Man, Xerent has an idea, but that is WAY too overpowered. Think of it.
Knight suddenly - blamo - gets 120% blocking (meaning always from the front, and 60% from the sides), 5 movement range, and 33 power. Bit... intense.

If there is a unit that can half enemy unit's speed, damage and blocking, wouldn't any SMART individual simply avoid it? I think this unit could just turn out to be an, um, "area avoidance system" for lack of better term. kinda like the lightning ward
perhaps I interpreted those ".5"s wrong Xe, sounds like it would half those particular stats to me.
Oh, and I'm using my gnu laptop. >:-) *grin*

Yea, it's not a 150% increase, it's 1/2 off each. ^^
