Since when is it luck that my starting formation is the way it is?
I was just accused of winning because of my "Lucky starting formation" not becuase of any skill. :D
Anyone else have this accusation leveled at them?

Sure there is luck in starting formations. Its not a random number generated luck, but its still luck. For example, you can really screw some formations over if you have a LW on exactly the correct square and get the first turn. Another example is that if I'm starting on the bottom, its a lot better for me if they have their scouts to the right as opposed to the left of them map.
Still, if you intelligently create your starting formation you should be able to minimize starting bad luck and maximize good luck possibilities by putting your units in the correct spot.

Hmmm, Good point.
However having a starting position that allows for the most versitility and a good approach to combating your oponent is a little more then luck.

thats ridicolous. especially if a noob says it. strategy begins in preparation. long before an actual battle.

Fungi, were you using a mage bomb? If so, there will be a lot of mud slinging at you, but most of it will just be gibberish ;)
Otherwise, the person who was saying you had a lucky formation was probably just a n00b

Interestingly enough I wasn't using Mage Bomb.
I don't really like it. So I was using a very basic corner turtle with a lightning ward.
