Server Competition! Pick 5 Representatives!

Hail Armageddon! A server competition will be held shortly, to once and for all determine the best server! Matches will be held between competing gold memberships to compete for points, and determine which server has the most talent. More details will be provided later, for now, we need five people to best represent your server!

- Please, do not submit multiple gold accounts belonging to the same person. Only one 'person' per gold account will be allowed to play.

- Either nominate yourself, or another gold member. These votes will be tallied, and a poll will be made from them of 10 candidates.

- From that poll, the top 5 (who are willing to play) will be chosen, and the games will begin!

I think its a nice idea, but I don't see a clear way of arbitrarily picking the 5 best players to represent the server.

They aren't going to be arbitrarily picked out of a hat or so. Nominations will be tallied, and a poll will be put forth after some time containing the names of people who recieved a substantial amount of nominations. From there, the poll will be reduced, and if necessary, a second poll will be introduced, to determine the 5 that will play.

Since I'm technically an Army player now, so I'd like to nominate the people I've had my best matches with:

Anarchy1- Showed me a good game, and kept cocky even after I was winning. I wanted to smack him so hard...but now we're cool :D

Snarr- I have lost to him, but this was before I had learned the importance of a Mud Golem. I look forward to a rematch

Stiltz- I drew with him. He showed great skill even after he made some mistakes

Kyx- Yep, another Outkast member. Kyx played me and won. Was a good competitor and showed great skill. Another who I look forward to face again

Pancho54- Played him, and he won. I was suprised by him actually. Guess I kinda underestimated him, and that was a BIG mistake. Pancho definitely deserves to be nominated.

This was a question of mine. You can't make a poll, because the players from the other servers will be able to vote. They could just simply vote for the least skilled players. Hopefully, none of the other servers would resort to sabotage to win(I know Achilles was just playing around, but you always want to be on the safe side).

I think its safe to say that most of the army golds can recognize each other, plus, if you want to make it even more secure, you could limit it to only gold access forum accounts (to keep ppl from just making as many accounts a they wanted and nominating ppl)

I actually concur with Tcbb, even though Xerent and I have only played half of a game...she is a very smart and talented player. As to not hurt any feelings, i will not change any of my votes, but i encourage ppl to add Xerent to your top 5 selections

I have only played Xerent once. I won, but I was facing Teio so I don't think it counts. But I believe she is running the tournament. She may choose not to participate, but I'm not sure...

Snarr is a Moderator. He only has power on the forums, so he is eligable to play in the game, and not have an advantage. He's in the running

The one thing that makes these tournaments different is that the Army players won't have to face each other. In the Revelation Tournament, the final players are Banff players, and 1 ex-Banff player. This is the main difference I see.

Also, I agree with you about the popularity contest, Shaman. I'm seeing many people(Not just on the Army Forum) that are being nominated because of their rank, but I won't point out names. But this is just my opinion...
