Since there have been a lot of complaints of people not getting their gold accounts, maybe you guys should close down gold applications for a few days so you can catch up? People are threatening to report TAO to the internet fraud thingy, most of them are bluffing, but some are big enough assholes to do it, and just the fact that these losers are flaming your forums about this, you could loose some sign ups, id consider this if I was in your position.

The only reason those guys don't have gold account is either..
A) They didn't do it properly -- didn't put correct / enough information in the payment plan.
B) Do not know that you have to pay for gold account. (One guy thought that they got auto-golded after one month)
C) They sent a money order, and it hasn't arrived yet.

i paypaled money on my mom's credit card, send the recipt along with other information in, and sent 3 emails, its been 27 hours, still no gold
can you maby put in a good word for me?

sry aro..i almost never disagree with yah..
but my second account is 48hrs in the coming, I got my receipt for billing about 10 minutes after I sent in the upgrade request, and I am absolutely certain my account was made in GL before (since i played it for a while before upgrading).
I didn't complain on it, as I realize there are ppl who hav been waiting longer. However, there is an obvious problem here with the gold upgrade process with so many people have complaints. Even if it is mostly user errors and not TAO's fault, then maybe the process should be changed so that error is less likely.
Perhaps the people who are making mistakes are slowing down the process for the rest of us though?

well, since it is still recovering, than shouldnt that be more of a reason to close gold applications for a day or two, to catch up?

I am normally a big supporter of TAO and a defender of their issues that can sometimes occur, and I still DO take them into account.
However, perhaps there should be a bit more customer service orientation in TAO. I mean, if there are a lot of complaints from new and incoming gold members, for whatever reason, something should change in order to alleviate that situation (i.e. actual 24hr upgrades, more timely announcements on server difficulties, etc etc). Even if a majority of the complaints are due to the person's own error, and not TAO's, then maybe the process should change in order to make it so less error's occur. Not trashing, just giving my thought on how I see a business as working.

I think oneshot's intentions in making this arguement were very good. The thing is...why would they want to stop gold accounts from being created? Gold accounts bring in the money. lol The more sign ups for Gold accounts the better right? Would you want to lose profit like that? DivineRight is doing everything he can to be quick and he is doing a great job. I just do not see stopping gold accounts from being orderd happening anytime soon.

saywhat, they would want to stop the application for new golds if they can't deliver on their promises for them (or they should). Thats the business model anyways. Its a problem when ppl are charged for going gold..and aren't actually upgraded in the game for days or even weeks later.
If its a process where nobody gets activated on time, and there are lots of complaints, the application process should be stopped until they either catch up with the load they have, or else change the application process altogether so they have fewer complications.
I don't doubt DR's skill or his work at TAO, but there are some issues with the current setup. So maybe its time for a change.

Well, it took OmegaRed, three days to go gold, almost four. I have been waiting for a forum upgrade for about three weeks, it's kinda ridiculous. They promise one thing for service, and give another. There is no excuse really, they claim their busy, but really, that's not our fault, if they are to busy, they need a bigger staff. More mods to worry about the forums, like megabyte would be a good mod. That would cut down some worries. If they can't do what they are supposed to do, then why run the game. I know where they are coming from, but the thing is, i payed $5 for another months service, and only got 2 weeks out of it. That's taking money from me, and me not getting what i paid for...........bs.
Anyways, i have to go, and that's my view, so cya guys. bye.

Why should gold upgrade be done manually anyways? Can't it just be set up so paying for a gold account automatically upgrades one's account?

Im sure they tried to do that, but there are ways to scam the system, im not sure how, but a hacker would know how. anyway, they should think of expanding thier staff, and changing the time frame, because this is ridiculous

4 days since I was charged and sent in my GL account upgrade....and my account was wiped instead of upgraded :/

I applaud the mods and admins for doing their efforts to fix problems and what not on the site and in the game. I'm not sure how Sasser works so I can't say that it was done in a quick amount of time (Server down time). But I do know that DR or Bills should look into upgrading the staff.
Site makers should volunteer for keeping the site news up and running and keep everyone informed on what exactly is going on. A constant flow of communication between the admins and mods should be implemented. I understand it takes a great deal of trust for admins to let volunteers handle gold account and server issues and processing, but something has to be done and soon. A breakdown in communication has resulted since the server down time and things just aren't moving up to par. I'm in no way complaining or volunteering. I am simply observing the constant complaints and talks about the problems going on and what I feel needs to be done. A few people can handle gold account processing, 1 can handle site updating (I've been here since Jan and haven't see the screen shot page host 1 screen shot. Not that it's truly important, but cmon now), and that leaves DR and Bills to handle server issues and what not.
It's not right that the "inner circle" (close friends of DR or Bills) gets to know what's going on while everyone else gets to suffer. I say volunteers because I myself would post news on the main page without pay or a "bonus" or freebies. Again i'm not volunteering. I'm jus saying people who aren't expecting pay, a bonus or freebies should opt themselves to get the job done. I can play the game, nothing is wrong with my subscription, and for me...I have no problems with the game as it stands. Just an observation and a few suggestions.

Lots of internet businesses have managed to do it. Even if a few people hacked it its worth the time saved, which could go into improving the game and thus bring more money to the site.
