No offense man, but the way to be a good/best anything is to simply beat anyone worth beating and that is not measured in points.

Last month while I was on vaca and business trips I took a grey account and just played. Quitting out if I had to and not caring about points. I beat a bunch of 1300+ players (while on my base grey account - no unit drops) and the pics are on our website.

I soon found myself in the top100, all while quitting out of a whole BUNCH of games as the hotel wi-fi dropped, or later as my baby took away by attention and demanded it be spent on her.

Does that mean I an 'good'? who knows. I can't say so for sure. Maybe I beat a lot of crappy players ranked really high. I dont think that means I am necessarily good. A better measure for me is sparring Megabyte (who I think is one of the best) and coming close or even winning (as I did a last week or so). It is also coming close or beating some of the other players who are just plain a challenge. The joy for me is in the challenge and not whether I am 'the best'. If I were completely the best, I would more quickly find the game boring and would not bother to play anymore. There would be no challenge. Having said that, I was bored months ago and now the fun I have is in mentoring clanmates, helping with the clan, and managing the website.

But as long as their are ego's in this game, there will be people that will claim to be the best and every loss is never their fault and always something else.

Pyro Pyrates, SI, KOTR, and a couple of other clans that are also prominent on other servers...do contain a bunch of good players. :)

Xyx, this display of arrogance by you is quite disgraceful. You are a good grey player yes, but you really have gained no respect from me with your abilities after the bullshit that you pulled on me the last time we played (he played me gold on grey with a new grey account and i disconnected seconds into the game. But i still wanted to play him so we started another game but instead of playing like we had started before, he changed his formation to give himself a better chance of winning...a very cheap move...even though it didnt help him at all). And the pyro pyrates are a joke on pretty much all servers. Yes i used to be a pyro pyrate. Me and a couple other reputable players brought in many good players and gained some respect for the clan, but as soon as we left the clan completely fell apart. There are many great grey players on armaggedon who i am sure could beat you handily. Ugh, im getting tired of ranting about this. Next time you speak on our server forum Xyx, make sure you know what you are talking about.

It is true that last game we played, my grey on your gold, I switched sides once I had seen your formation. Thats because, grey vs gold battles from opposite corners is boring. Its not like I carefully analyzed your formation to come up with a counter. Keep in mind that you already had the much bigger advantage of gold units.

As for those of you who's minds weren't stong enough to recognize the power of Pyro Pyrates philosophy...The Dawg Pound is hardly a clan of any quality. I bet I could beat half the golds in your clan with my grey account first try...considering the game we played was grey vs gold, you didn't impress me at all.

I've played on Army a lot under names not associated with me...I know their "good" players, especially greys....Army is clearly the weakest and most overrated of the servers.

I can't resist this... I'm guessing xyx was right, seeing as not a single grey aside from Rogue_Wolf has posted to have a match with Sir Vival...

I played Serge, and IMO, even though the match was cut short, he is pretty good. I also assume that Johnny Chimpo is from Army, seeing as I've never seen him on either of the other servers, but a good flamer is not necessarily a good player. I'll have to come by Army more often to try some of you out...

That being said, this thread seems to indicate that Sir Vival is a greyjumper. Its a shame that the Gold Jumpers of Banff are spread so thinly between Banff and GL beating down the sad golds who think that greys are easy prey, otherwise you'd probably see more of us. Maybe I can persuade some of us to make a few courtesy calls... :rolleyes:
