1. Aims
1.1 The primary aim of the Revelation Grand League is to provide a new fun and competitive aspect to the game.
1.2 A secondary objective is to provide a better mean of evaluating a player’s skill, it achieves that by: Having a generally higher number of games then in a tournament which would greatly decrease the role of luck.
Having a more wide variety of opponents, limiting the effect of the formation – counter formation issue.
Having no selectivity of your opponents, overcoming the problem which allows the exploitation of the current rating system.
Updating periodically, to give chance to show improvement by players.
Does not allow unit drops.1.3 The last objective is to generally attract a greater crowd to the Revelation server.

2. Organisation
2.1 There will be 7 groups, each group with 9 players in it (the number will change if deemed suitable). The groups will be named alphabetically A-G, (with A being the strongest, B being the second and so on
2.2 Each group will be under the supervision of a league leader to whom anything that needs to be (match results, problems or violation) will be reported.
2.3 The league will have rounds which will last 28 days. A new round will start a few days after the end of the old one.
2.4 New players may join only at the beginning of new rounds; players who wish to quit will do best doing so at the end of a round.

3. Matches
3.1 Every player plays each person in his group twice, giving a grand total of 16 games per round.
3.2 All games must be completed in the allowed 28 days period.
3.3 Players who complete less then 10 matches in the allowed period without justification will be suspended from the next round.
3.4 Games results are to be reported by the winner only to the league leader as soon as possible, to allow time to process them. Reports will be done by emails to taoleague@hotmail.com and in the following format (or resembling that):

Snarr Vs. Punishment Co.
Group A
Winner: Snarr (specify home or away game)

Most importantly, is to have your group as your subject, so it is easy for us to organise.

3.5 Reports are based on a trust system, violation of this trust system are described in section 6.
3.6 Matches are to be played on the Revelation server.
3.7 The allowed units are basic gold, no drop, 10 units may be used including any of the following:

1 Lightening ward
1 Barrier Ward
1 Dark Magic Witch
1 Dragon Speaker Mage
1 Beast Rider
1 Dragon (counts as 2 units)
1 Mud Golem
1 Frost Golem
1 Stone Golem
1 Furgon
1 Cleric
1 Assassin
1 Enchantress
2 Pyromancers
2 Scouts
3 Knights
1 Poison Wisp
1 Golem Ambusher

3.8 If a game has started and one of the players has unit drop in his formation, then the victory will be automatically awarded to the other player. This is to avoid players seeing the formation and then changing according to it.
3.9 A player is to play his opponent twice, in one of which games (the home game) he will get first turn, and in the other (the away game) he will go second. This will be determined by alphabetical order, the player lower in the alphabet will play at home on the first game. For example; Punishment Co. will get the first home game against Snarr.
3.10 The responsibility to coordinate matches falls on the player; this can be done any way they choose to. The recommended way would be private messages via the forums. Do not make new threads in the forums!

4. Scoring
4.1 3 points awarded for a victory.
4.2 1 point awarded for a loss
4.3 2 points awarded for a draw.
4.4 Disconnect is treated as a loss, unless the other party agrees for a rematch, which he should do unless the game balance was tipped to his side.

5. End of round procedures
5.1 At the end of the round all matches must be completed.
5.2 Incomplete matches will result no points awarded to either parties, unless a tournament leader decides otherwise.
5.3 When all scores are added up, the top player from each group will move 2 groups up, the second and third will move 1 group up.
5.4 The bottom player in a group will move 2 groups down, and the 2 above him will move 1 group down.
5.5 An exception to this rule will be that the 4th player from the bottom in group A will move to group B as well. This comes to compensate for the fact that the top player from group B cannot move 2 groups up.
5.6 The bottom 3 players form the bottom group, and the last one from the one before last group will have to wait the next round out.
5.7 In case of a draw between players the winner of most matches within that group will be the ranked higher, if those are equal then the winner of the most recent match will be ranked highest.
5.8 The winner of group A will… We’ll see… Nothing for the first round but we will do as best we can to get something.

6. Violations
6.1 Violation of the rules will result in sanctions which may be expressed as reduced point, suspension and even permanent ban, depending on the severity of the violation.
6.2 The decision will be taken by the league leaders.

I'm interested, but I want to play for AAA Buffalo so I can get called up later, and might have a chance at winning one before then. Also, Sundays are bad for me. If you make me play on Sunday I'll surrender after 2 moves, or play you with my grey units. Yes, I did it in the last tourney :)

Sounds like fun. My only request is that Seed and Dr work on a"streaker unit". It's only function will be to run onto the playing field ( naked , of course) and cause the other player to lose 1 turn. Each player will be able to call upon the streaker only once per game. Timing will be key........* notices everyone staring * Okay, how about a cheerleader unit? Same principle....* slowly reaches for beer*

I too, would like to try. I'm also sort of in a Bottle-esque situation, where I'll be around for 2 1/2 weeks until graduation (ahhh! the real world, noooo!) and then gone for 2 weeks (vacation, baby!) and then back for 3 weeks before...law school. Golly.

OK that is a total misconception you have there OS. The mere fact of being in any division already shows skill. There is no lower division; there is 1 top division, a second division and a third division. There are about 1000 golds, only 36 will be allowed in, so merely being in is already a show of skill.

Anyway like written, it will be decided by ranking on revelation for the first round, and if this isn't your level then you will move up or down accordingly.

Don't worry so much about initial placement, starting in the lowest league doesn't mean you are bad, it just means we don't know that you are good.

If you are placed lower than you should be, you will move up.

1) This requires some sort of dedication and that has to come voluntairly, if you need to be conviced then maybe you'd want to rethink if you really want to do it.

2) The first go will be a test with 8 players per league. So for now really don't worry about spots left - it's like a beta if you will, and I'm hoping for s ohrter period cause there are less games to be played. Need there be I guess we could have a 4th division.

3) You would need to register for yourself, for at least it shown you have read the thread. On top of that, it will all be running through the forums, and game arrangments are best done by PMs. So if someone for a reason cannot access the this thread or send and recieve PM's (does not need to be an active poster) then again maybe he should rethink.

4) Megabyte I can fix this, I'll put an announcement in the Rev forums.

Obviously directed at me...well..I am dedicated to what I commit myself to..In the previous tournament I was always one've the first done in most've the rounds and if not the first..close to it on the first day.

The belief that there won't be a prize is wrong, the first one is a test run and won't have a prize but there after there will be. But really if you are merely joining this for the prize then you are joining for the wrong reason.

Well, I really want to enter this, but as you know I may not be able to, depending on when it starts. Don't say that SI won't enter because they're stuck up.

I think Darque, Big X and Draq will all join. The other SIs aren't on enough to play the necessary 22 games. Therein lies the problem; a tournament is good for good part-time players, and a league is good for the good regulars. That is the point, pure and simple.

Oh and a suggestion, which I have already mentioned to Snarr; how about, since we play each other twice, we have a *home* game and an *away* game, where the home team gets the first turn? If one player got the first turn randomly both times, he would just pass the second time. This would even things out, if people were honourable enough to stick to this rule.

Its a nice motivating factor. If your in it for the pure competition...well, this is a nice means of organizing it, but you can play any gold you can coordinate with on Rev anyways. Just sayin it like I see it :)

We will judge case by case, but generally if it isn't played by the end of the month both parties get no points unless 1 party can proove otherwise.

People who refuse to play for fear of rating drop or whatever shouldn't be joining really.

What is vitally important is your name, your opponent's name, and who won. If you get one of those incorrect you should send a correcting email.

It becomes a lot easier if you put your league in the subject, and tell us whether your game was home or away.

I do blame him, if it's something that unoticable like an 8 at the end instead of a 3 then he is to make sure we see it. With 100 applications and around the 60 places any obstacle on the way is ground to disqualification and it's up to him to make sure there are none.

You knoz what if it was Bony887 instead of Tony887 thats easy to notice but if the number is different if not going to compare it.

Anyway having said that, I don't know why you bring this up, its 2 weeks old.
