Without any facts, evidence, or experience playing the game Middle Earth Online, I can comfortably say that;

FFXI > MEO

Thank you.

I've learned not to get excited about online games before I've tried them.

EverQuest - Was more excited about the release of this game than any other game in history. Bored with it by month 6 after realizing how grossly repetitive combat was, and how every useful activity involved a minimum 4 hour time commitment.

Shadowbane - So psyched about a game which was finally going to do PVP right. So disappointed by the fact that lag and their lame-ass targetting system was all it took to sink the whole idea before it even left dock.

EVE: Online The Second Genesis - If graphics made the game, this would be the best MMORPG out there. Unfortunately they don't. Most necessary and profitable occupation in this game also happens to be the most horridly boring and mindlessly repetitive. Skill training offline = good idea, 6 hours of travel time to accomplish anything = bad idea.

Starwars Galaxies - Sounded awesome. Looked awesome. Most boring game ever fucking made.

I've learned not to get my hopes up until I actually play the game. MEO has a good "name brand" and pretty graphics, but until I've spent a couple months in the game writing this post is about as much interest as I'm going to show in it.

Well was any MMORPG good then?

I've been consistently satisfied with only one MMORPG experience, though, being text-based, you could say it's only for the "hardcore" -- those who are willing to give up pretty graphics and sound effects for a more complete multiplayer experience with the best PVP system ever designed and implemented.

Allow yourself to let go of graphics, and I guarantee you will sink more time into this game than all others combined.

Everwar (http://www.everwar.net/)

As for all of the "mainstream" MMORPGs I've tried, the answer is "no," none have been good in my opinion. Granted, there's plenty I haven't tried, including Dark Age of Camelot, Planetside, Asherons Call I/II, Lineage I/II, Ultima Online, Meridian 59, Anarchy Online, Horizons, City of Heroes (might try this one yet).

That's what most people in the world outside of the US use instead of Zip codes. Just enter your zip and you should be all right :)

Has anyone read the costs?

I saw somewhere in there it costs $50 something a month, then 12$ to maintain and other costy crap.

I hope it becomes successful. . .

both are right.

50$ to buy the game in the store.

10-15$ a month subscription.
