I was thinking about this the other day. I think that a /leader command would be nice. What you could do is type(I'll use SI for an example) /leader Strategic Insomniacs, and a message would pop up saying, ***The leader of Strategic Insomniacs is Meletus*** or something along that.
Having this will help many things. You always hear people in the lobby asking who the leader of a particular clan is, so this will enable them to find out without having to ask. Also, if you see a player cheating, and they happen to be in a clan, you'll be able to know who the leader is, and can report the cheater.
What do you guys think?(Sorry if this has been suggested before. I didn't see this idea in Aro23r's sticky)

that would be nice but many clan searchers do not even know their stats when you ask them... so if they do not know /stats how would they know /leader SI ??? just a though but I think it would be a real convenince to those who actually read the commands when they log on...

I think it would make a lot of sense. More support for clans would make the game better. It is kinda bad never knowing who is the leader of a clan. Especially clans that are on several servers, or switches leaders.

I think it would work better if it were in the welcome message when you sign on the clan, not the one that is user-made, but the one that is automatic.
Perhaps like this:
***Welcome to Banff. Your clan is Strategic Insomniacs, and your leader is meletus.***
That would probably be the best way to implement this idea, because we already have a /leader function.

i dont thnk thats quite what rogue meant aro, i think he is making this suggestion for ppl outside of the clan, so they can find out who to ask for a tryout, or who to report a cheater in their clan to

Oh. I see. Often times I don't even know who the leader of a clan that I, myself, was in.
Why would we need a feature to do such a thing? Why not just ask for a tryout and then have that person inform their leader, or just ask who the leader of the clan is?

People do that a lot already. But this feature would eliminate a lot fo tyhe lobby spam of "who is a leader" and such.

If they are going to program a new function, why not make that function as broad as we can. The following proposal would use the exact same programming and call as the welcome msg, but be on request for all players, instead of just automatic for clanmates.
Command:
/news [Clan Name]
Setting Msg:
{Clan Leader}
/news Greetings. DragonFire is now recruiting mature players. Goto www.knightresource.com or find Clan Leaders Shaman or Megabyte.
Call Msg:
{Non-Clanned Player}
/news DragonFire
* Gets msg indicated above -- "Greetings. DragonFire is now recruiting mature players. Goto www.knightresource.com or find Clan Leaders Shaman or Megabyte."
Then you yourself could tell the people who to find, latest news, website, etc. Instead of just a list of the leader.
See this thread (http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6698) for all the previous responses.

i think this woudl be a great idea, it would cut down on spamming in the lobby too, u know, people annoying you typing "who's your leader? who's you leader?"
