Very good, my personal favorite is the stoned crazy turtle.:D

consider LOS shots when making a set up... if a gold jumped me and used the 3 witch defense i would be so happy... my suggestion is to go to rev and ask some of the veteren player to teach you some advanced strategy and mimic theirs then once you get good at that take the principles of their strategy and form your own.

You should familiarize yourself with the units at your disposal using a grey account and then by looking at the image of the formation you will quickly realize if there is a gold unit in the formation that you don't have access to.

Note: You will not be able to use some of the grey formations starting off because they use dropped units, for example: the double healer formations.

I could be incorrect, so, if I'm wrong, please correct me.

But, because they may have been hosted on imageshack, and the thread is very old, the links may have expired. (I couldn't think of a better word)
