Now, I know this may sound crazy, but there are people out there who value their stats. This prevents them from engaging in interesting things, such as 5 units games and other games with certian alterations. It also discourages them from playing people with a rating lower than theirs. The option for unrated games would solve all of these problems, and they would allow a way for newbies to play a few games without going into low ratings in order to get the hang of things.
This could be accomplished in a few ways.
1. an option to turn rated games on and off on a personal basis. if a person with rating on plays another with rating on, the game will be rated. if a person with rating off plays one with rating on, it will be rated. if a person with rating off plays a person with rating off, it will be unrated
2. specified unrated floors
3. when a person with rating off places their avatar on an arena, the color of the arena will change to signify that game will be unrated
4. there could be a clan called Unrated, which anyone would be able to join at any time, without invite (this is the least convenient for players, but probably the easiest to make)
5. there could be an in-game switch. if each player presses theirs, the game is unrated
Drops:
Whether drops should apply in rated games isnt something I thought through. Either way is fine with me, if there are unrated games at all :)
