So Im playing kyx.

And its down to the wire.

And he blocks a side hit that would have lost him the game. (knight vs. knight, but with other units still around. no other attackers)

And we keep going, doing all this stuff, and... he gets a front hit on my knight. Ok, so im still decent.

And then he gets the side hit (that was otherwise unavoidable without losing for sure) on my knight and wins.

So... I suppose the moral of the story is that when I have the Will of God against me, I lose vs. kyx.

Ya, luck sucks. I played a guy who had close to the same turtle setup as me only on the other side. The beginning turned into a Scout battle and basically I got pissed and surrendered cause he hit my Scout twice from the front. The first time was like ok, sure. Then he hit me from the side with a Knight, but I figured I was safe since the only way he could hit me was from the front. Guess what? He did!

actually.... I hate to sound crazy nerdy.... And actually Im not. But everything is run off an algorithm... no such thing as luck in these games. There is no randomizer. Someone was really bored and made an algorithm for the critical hits in pokemon that was easy to type in. I bought the game to test it. It worked. Always. There is no such thing as luck in this game. Or in any other game that is programmed. Hate to dissapoint.

I'm not a nerd in the least BTW. A geek a little. But I just found out that algorithm stuff and decided to share it with the rest of you.

Sure there is luck. An algorithm needs a seed to run, usually based on the time of the call for a "random" number. I think they are referred to as pseudo-random numbers, and, for all intents and purposes, are random.

It's not the "perilous poem place," it's "pernicious poem place."

In the series where Calvin adds 7 and 3, he doesn't get 73. He becomes Spaceman Spiff and crashes planets 7 and 3 together to see what happens. Planet 7 is bigger, so it totally destroys planet 3. Thus, Calvin answers that 7+3=7.

I miss that comic.

-edit- Let's see who the real fan is...a rep to the 1st person who correctly posts the phrase that Calvin yells in the sunday strip lead-in to one of the first calvinball sunday comics. (The lead-in is the 2-panel sight gag before the actual strip.) Calvin yells the phrase as he sneaks up from behind a tree and grabs Hobbes' flag. Only a real nutter would know this without looking it up.

You are right about that, but we are playing with a perilous poem threads, as you cannot play the same way TWICE. Therefor, we cannot have a pernicious poem zone.

He was adding 6+5, and gets 6 by clashing 2 planets toghether.

Pheonix, you cannot just disregard rules at your choosing. There has to be a reason for you getting the special power.

It is a game of imagination and unorganization. The rules are constantly changing, as there are only 3 constant rules:

Wizzy', basicly you can make up any rule you want, but if the rule is to rediculous, someone can say something like, "Post 94 of any thread is the opposite thread, and any post targeting another player is directed back at the player who iniated it". Its a game of creativity and fun. There are no winners or losers, even though score is kept. The score is mostly meaningless.

Also, by putting the ultimate flag in the thread of doom, you get to choose the new location of the Base Calvinball thread. Can be pretty much anywhere everyone can post in.


New rule! Posts 105-109 of the base rule becomes the Spin Spinner Zone, and anyone must say, "Spin Spinner Spin" at the bottom of the post or anything done in that post is null and void. Also, they lose and intra-boogle token.
