Ok, I looked a bit, and didn;t see any posts about this. So here is a little info for the newer players.
Ever win a drop unit, only to discover your holding area was full?
Did you know you can retrieve the last unit still? Go into your settings, trash a unit you don;t want, go back to lobby, then back into your settings folder. The drop unit will be there. Wonder if a drop unit is waiting in the trash for you?? Hold your mouse over the trash can, and you will see a little message. (I forgot what)
Well, I hope this may help one or two people out.
Interesting, I never have enough drops to be bothered by that. When someone get that much drops, he will probably not any newer players. Still, very useful information.

Yet another thing they should put on the site. Thanks Jeffery, I didn't know that.

Nice thread, Jeffery. It explains why it says "recruit" over my trash can. I've been wondering about that.

OK, I know this thread has been dead for like 2 years, so I apologize for the necro, but, I recently filled my holding area on legends and wanted to know what would happen if I got another drop. After a bit of searching I found the same information Jeffrey had posted somewhere on the legend's website's FAQ section.
While this answered my initial question, new questions were raised. So, after some more searching, and finding this thread, which unfortunately had no new information (no offense intended Jeffrey, I'm sure this information was new when you wrote it), I decided to do some testing. Here is what I found:
After getting a cleric drop that was worthless, I went into my settings and saw the "recruit" message, but decided to ignore it. A few days later I got an echantress drop that I decided to throw in my lineup. After ditching a useless assassin, I reloaded my settings only to find a third cleric and the "recruit" message still there. I dumped the cleric, reloaded the settings again, woohoo, an enchantress and no "recruit" message.
This makes it seem like the "recruit" feature is a queue (first in first out). I haven't done any more testing and don't know how "large" the queue is. I also do not know how the queue handle's new drops after reaching its size limit. I would imagine it either overwrites the first or last drop in the queue.
Anyone know for a fact, cuz I'm just guessing at this point?

My question is what happens if you have a 9 unit set up on your field (8+drag) and full off the field.
How can you get the dragon off the field without dumping a unit? lol.
Or a 10 unit set up and a dragon off the field. Seems you'd need to dump a unit to be able to get the drag on or off >_>

EDIT: Your question is confusing. It works that way, you can move the dragon off the field. But with a full army off the field, and 10 on, you can't move the dragon to the field without dumping a unit. (The dragon counts as 2 on the field, but not off, you see what I mean?)

Is that a joke? You just take any unit, lets say a frost, and switch it with the dragon. Then BAM you have 9 on the field (8 + frost) and full off field.
[EDIT]: Ahhh, KBHoleN nailed it, your question is backwards. I do not know how the dragon would go back onto the field.

I have asked this question around the legends forum, and after getting flamed heavily, found out that there appears to be no size limit on the queue. I'm sure there has to be one in practice, but I was told it can hold at least 25 which should be more than enough.

Yes, I found out that it's a queue the other day on rev when I ditched a series of two units- first a barrier ward, then a mud, in order to get to a "queued" beast rider drop.
