Looks like a 2 horse race to me... chanty and scout. They are the best units though. Cleric is pretty vital too, but chanties and scouts win the most games for you.

Knights, witches and BWs are very useful too, even in some gold formations, but they aren't as important as the first three.

the most valuble grey unit is the scout. xyx 2 clerics and no scout would not be a good idea. the scout is the best weapon verse mages clerics and chanties.

Cuathon, you forgot its great against the Barrier ward and its usually the longest surviving distance unit.

Anyway, this account has served its purpose and will be closing down. It would be fun to make it gold if i could but oh well.

Mine is the cleric. If you have 2 as a grey then your deadly to any player.

I think I'd have to say the scout, then maybe the enchantrees or knight. Clerics, well... There nice for healing, but I think it strange, and I guess an advantage towards me, how many people try and go in and kill him. Since I don't use my cleric TOO much, it doesn't boter me, it just gets all my opponents units right where I want them.

i dont understand how u all think the scout is so good. i mean the pyro could kick its ass any day! i mea nthat 15 power. *wipes forhead*and the chanty? against they pyro? please! a cleric?! dont make my laugh! the pyro is serisly the best unit in the game. i would even go so far as to say its the most over powerd unit in the game.

when a chantie and a scout play 1 on 1, it is a tie if both units start on opposite ends of the board, and either wins if they both start upfront, or together on the middle of the board. The winner is the person that gets first move.

The poll is the 'favorite' grey unit, not the most useful.
My favorite grey unit is the Enchantress because with some imagination and (definately) some skill, you can create awesome situations to amaze and confuse your opponent.

The scout has LOS, and anyone that knows how to read these boards, knows how to use it. Amazingly useful, but amazingly predictable.

As for your scenario, if you end up with just an enchanty on one end and your opponent has a scout on one end, you definately did not use your enchanty the best way you could have. I doubt I will ever, ever... see the scenario you envisioned.

i like many units. chanty/barrier combo is v nice, but my 2 actual favs are scout and witch.

i voted witch coz overall her dmg potential is extremely nice, especially with cleric assassinating.

also, *my* witch seems to be good at blocking :)
