You all knew it was coming, im making myself a part of the history of this game!!

Renegade: A very well equipped mercenary, the Renegade is quite able to live up to the standards that he is set by his employers. Unlike the standard hirleling, the Renegade asks not a price of gold, but of blood.

Name: Renegade
Hit Points: 50
Power: 28
Armor: 30%
Movement Range: 4
Recovery Time: 1
Blocking: 75% front, 30% sides

Attack Pattern: Attacks 2 tiles in a straight line, If both squares are occupied, the first unit in line is the only one that can block; however if that unit blocks successfully the second unit is not hit either. ie:

OOO O = blank square
ODO D = damaged square
ODO R = Renegade
ORO
OOO

Appearance:Heavily armored unit who carries a massive battle sword and whos helm is crested by a torn blood-red ribbon.

Special: If your opponent is in control of the Renegade, you may click on him in the move phase of your turn. You will then be given a target space on all your units, you may choose a unit to sacrifice. If you sacrifice a unit you take control of the Renegade and may use him that same turn, subject to recovery time. Recovery time stays with the Renegade no matter who commands him. The player who puts the Renegade on his or her team starts with control of him.

hehehhe i found away to make the unit named after me totally pumped yet still balance him into the game :).

Very cool Renegade. Seems fairly balanced, I thought the attack and armor seemed high, but it is your call if you want to lower them. But would seem balanced. I like the idea of sacrificing a unit to take control of it.

yeah he is more powerful than a standard unit by a fair ammount, but it makes you wonder whos gonna crack first and let their opponent keep the Renegade.... yeah hes powerful cause u kill a unit to own him for possibly just a single turn

Hey, if two people had Renegades on each side, could one techinally sacrifice a Renegade for a Renegade?

hmmmmmm thinking of making recov 2.... i will see after more comments. Also need a way to give the guy who puts him on his team a bit more of an advantage.....

Make it so the Renegade gets a temporay Barrier once someone sacrifices a unit for it until his recovery is gone? And during this time the enemy can't sacrifice a unit for it so the guy gets at least one turn with the Renegade?

Ah, ok. I thought you meant like just a he-can't-die-barrier, not a he-can't-be-taken-back-by-enemy-barrier. Ok, it's your unit in the end.

The player that *owns* the Renegade before the game keeps him after the game ends right?

Otherwise looks good except for the fact that the game would have to be re-written to allow sacrifice and the like.

yeah sacrifices acctually wouldnt be too hard because like i said they would only be allowed for while you highlight the renegade but dont control him

sounds a bit freaky.... buying a unit with another's blood, huh.. What about end-game with a knight and a renegade against one another? just use the knight to take over the renegade and win... would kinda ruin my game endings... I don't see how her would be played at all....
Basically "who wants to kill the most of their units to have the really strong guy?" I wouldn't be havin' much fun withthat.

yea, you could just have both teams going back and forth with the sacrifices... no real tactics involved at all.

well i think its a good idea if u dont want to get in a sacrifice battle just attack them then

The problem that I see with this unit is that it will always be the two players just going back and forth with sacrifices, and if one person decides to let it go then they will probably loose the match. It will just be: sacrifice, kill something with renagade. See opponent do the same. Repeat.

I would just para it with a barrier'd frostie.

well think about it, its each players choice to how far they are willing to go to keep the renegade. also ALL effects including paralyse would get transfered with the renegade, making things more complicated if you want to use him. also if it was 1 on 1 at the end and you sacrificed to get the renegade, you would loose, because your unit dies, AND THEN the renegade is transfered to your control.
