Continuing on with the idea of my invulnerable-to-unblockable thing...

Battle Mage

HP: 50
Power: 11/0(Freeze)/17
Armor: 0%
Blocking: 0%
Movement: 4
Range: 2/3/1
Recovery: (1M/1A)

Specail: Invulnerable to 'Unblockable' attacks.

The Battle Mage's attack has three different statistics, like an enhanced strike, or something along those lines. The first power statistic represents a normal attack. If successful, the second attack is performed, and also checked against blocking. If successful, the third attack is performed, and also checked against blocking. If at any time the 'chain' is blocked, the subsequent attacks are not performed.

The Battle Mage must be in range for the attacks to be performed. For instance. If you are two squares away, only the first and second attacks can be performed. If you are three squares away, only the second attack can be performed.

The 'Freeze' attack must sucessfully hit to be effective. If it does, the unit suffers a +1 in wait time.

How about making it 3 range, and a few blocking? Maybe the first attack needs to be 12 or 14. The overall idea is pretty good. This is, what now, your 4th good idea?

this isnt that bad
all mages have blocking though...
also, is it 1 turn recovery for each attack?
what im trying to say is that if the mage moves attacks, does his second attack, the second attack gets blocked...is that 2 or 3 recovery?

It looks good, but if you attack from behind, all of the attacks hit, and if you attack a knight, you aren't going to get all three hits very often, even from the side. Also, the HP may be a little high, and is the attack pattern like a DMW's? All in all, it's a good idea, although I think I've seen a couple like this before. (meaning a chain attack idea)

Yes, the range patters are like that of a DMW, sorry, I should have specified that. The point is to get maximum efficency out of this unit, you should attack at 80-100% probability. (even 80% is stretching it, 100*.8*.8*.8 = about 50% success for all three) This often means attacking from behind, which means you can watch as your unit suffers for three turns without armor or blocking to aid.

Also, if you attack, regardless if you get one hit or three, the wait time is one. (think of it like this: The mage either gracefully executes all three attacks, like a work of art, to land back on his feet, readying himself for the next move, or the knight blocks his first attack, as the mage staggers back from the shock / feedback, and takes a while to regain his balance and composure. Both take about the same amount of time.)
