wow...just finished a seriously nice game against a rank 1000 or so.

let me explain why it was so nice, since i started playing ive been avoiding using chanties like the plague, i can never get the hang of exactly how to use em. but earlier today i thought id try figuring out a good way to use em, and just finished my 1st ever battle using a chanty. and if it wasnt for her id have been creamed, badly.

started off he was doing quite a nice turtle formation, i had to move a knight out of LW range on my 1st move, and he responded by pelting my assa and scout with a witch. i managed to run the scout away, but the assa was lost. i had to retreat into a semi-turtle of my own, albeit quite a strong one. he nearly nailed my witch, cleric and a knight, but i managed to save them.

seeing that i was weakened, with only 3 knights, cleric, badly hurt witch, badly hurt scout and a chanty left, he tried to flank round and take out my witch + cleric in a dual knight offensive. this is where my chanty came in. i managed to sneak into a position where i reached his knights, but none of my units. then barriering her with my ward. he then sent the scout to attack the ward, was out of range 1st turn so my knight got a quick hit on him. however he managed to harm the barrier and kill my cleric, at the cost of his scout. meanwhile his 3rd knight had been advancing around the side where the other 2 were, seeing the opportunity, i moving my chanty in and struck. all 3 paralysed, and chanty barriered again. now i had the upper hand from a hard start. he sent his pyro and assassin at me, the assassin managed to hurt my ward but died soonafter, and the chanty kept her focus. the pyro couldnt get into a good position without being smited by my ward, which it was, but managed to hurt the chanty....who just paralysed the knights again :D

he was left with a LW, a chanty and a cleric. he decided to hide next to his ward. my forces were badly battered, but i sent my only healthy knight to attack the chanty. foolish i know, but id won at this point. after comboing the chanty with my witch and scout, he surrendered what had seemed like a sure victory at the start.

p.s sry for lack of screenies, i must remember to take em next time.

Sounds like a good match. How do you remember all of this stuff about the battle?:D I'll have to play you sometime.

heh, fairly good memory is all, i wrote that like 2 mins after i finished the fight.

its still the only time a chanty has been useful for me tho, the rest of the time they just seem 2 get in the way

I never used the enchantree for a while. Infact, I kept the same no enchantree settup for months. Then, I decided to try it. Loved it. Although I don't use it much, and it kind of just takes up one unit, it still is valuable, since my strategy is to draw the oppenent to me, and the come too close, they get stuck.

i like to keep a strong defence, and send my scout to snipe off their pyros or witches or anything else within range. if their formation allows it, i like to bomb with my assa, can quite easily kill 2 pyros and a witch if they are close together and u heal//barrier the assassin.

i also like to flank with knights, 3 move is enough to get round units, and they are so tough that with healing they can get to the enemy cleric/mage in near no time, sit with their backs to the wall, block anything blockable, and bash on the weak units :)
one time i had a knight right behind my enemy for half the game just sitting bashing away, he had a weak formation tho, coz when he moved something to try to kill that knight, i cud send my witch forward and batter his ward
