well i was losing a game pretty bad...ish, when suddenly that magical red writing appeared saying "the winner will recieve 1 cleric" so i decided, right, id better start focusing. nice mindset i had going there. especially after he had said "excellent" in response to the drop (assuming he was gonna win)
the situation was this, he had 3 knights (all full life) and a cleric.
i had a LW, a BW, a cleric, a knight and a witch and a low life pyro
he launched a nice offensive and suceeded in taking my pyro quite easily. but with good use of the barrier i preserved my cleric and witch, until when he was retreating with a 10 life knight and i decided to kill it with my witch. did so, and his other knight killed my witch.
the situation was now 2 knights + a cleric vs 1 knight, a cleric, and both wards, but the LW werent much use coz he was v good at keeping outta range.
he had 1 knight on either side of the game, one with full, and the one thatd killed my witch (that had gotten blasted by my LW afterwards) and hence was on low life. coz i realised he would just sit back, heal back up and charge again, i realised i had to counter attack. so i charged my last knight at his, which was on 5 life. i was constantly within 1 move of a side attack, so he had to keep running, coz even if he healed my knight would kill in 1 hit. eventually he reached the back of the board, healed, and my knight managed to hit him from the side. the game was now in my favour, as his other knight began pulling back to try to finish my knight. i went for his cleric and killed it, but my knight only had 10 life left, compared to his with 40. now the tactics came into it.
the thing with knights is that when knight x hits knight y, knight y will usually go round for a side attack. this is foolish, as knight x will have a 1 turn recovery, so by using 1 extra turn u can go for an unblockable back attack.
that is what i did to him, and in the last instant, just before he killed my final knight and clinched the game, i barriered my knight, causing him to have to run for cover. but too late, his knight was zapped by my LW, i said GG, he left, i won a cleric! now i just need a decent 2 cleric formation :)
