This only some times works and certainly not aginst really good players.
The way that usually works for me is send in a couple pyros and a knight and assain to hit there dragons a if your luckey golems. Whale those units are there take an assain and witch mage and hit there gleris and golems really hard because u cant ein if you dont kill there armor golems afterwards center all you units on there non gold units dragonns beasts whatever and polish them off with all your forces. then the remaining kinghts will attack all there dragons and beasts. In the end game make sure u have your cleric and that u heal all the time or elese the stronger units will devour u also dont move your cleric unless u have to because its wastes his turns. Another thing is in the end game use your scout wizely by gettin behind the other units. Also when u are focusing on there non gold units make sure to try to evenly distribute the damage so your cleric can heal as much as possible. Another hint is be patient it is hard for non golds to beat golds so reply to this if u have any suggestions or other stategys:D derek

Naah, the only real way is to kill of their scouts and keep any mages at least 2 turns away. Then just enchantress anything that gets close, killing it only if necessary.
Don't forget to barrier ward the chanty if it is in danger of getting hit the very next turn.
Although sometimes healing it can be just as effective.
Ex. 13 health enchantress healed to 25 health where nothing can kill it but dragons.

...and LWs...
I kinda use these as basic models for my playing golds effectively.
Bomb: Take out DSM, or, if protected at the back, take out the biggest threat.
Rush: If it is more physical/melee, concentrate on one side, and attack with only units that block well, unblockable units should protect cleric. Make sure to heal when ever you can. Pay attention to the biggest threat ATM.
Frosti/Furgon: Aim for furgon with scouts and mages, use the bushes as cover for your mages. If the furgon runs, knight rush, and if you want, go right through the frosti, it can only handle one at a time. If furgon is still active make sure you use its bushes to help you stay out of frosti range.
Stoning Turtle /w frosti: If they out flank you then play defensive, take out the scouts and muddy, prefferably muddy and block the MOVEMENT path of the scouts, as their attacks are near impossible to block. If you get flank, take the scout with you, take out the frosti first, if you want send a knight in to hack it and just cover it with the scout, then aim for stoney or cleric. Watch out for the dragon!
No stoney turtle w/ Dual Cleric: When you pick a unit, focus on it, pick the one that is the greatest threat. When it run, chase it! Otherwise it will be at full health again real fast and it comes back to haunt you.
Across Form Frosti: Turtle or not, aim for that frosti, when it runs, snipe it, if they have a LW, destroy it, basically, kill everything that is unprotected, also, don't be afraid to sacrifice a knight for a cleric, damage is a LOT more effective, even on stoned knights, when they do not get healed up.
Diagonal Form, if you don't get the flank in general, your off bad, if they use a furgy to protect flank, then don't flank, attack from the front, if you can get you pyros up there it helps, and scouts are priceless.
Well, thats my 50 cents...

I agree with all points du.
Scouts/muddie: Only attack stoned scouts if enemy cleric is dead. Knights do about 14 to them, so 3 hits will take it out. Same goes for mud golem, but it will take four hits from a knight/witch.
Forms:
If you don't know you're opponent's form (http://img43.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img43&image=untitled37.jpg)
If you know the gold is turtling, (swap sides if necessary stay on the same side as the gold) (http://img43.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img43&image=untitled38.jpg)
If you know gold is bombing (keep scout alive!) (http://img46.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img46&image=untitled24.jpg)

...and avoid "golds" all together. I realized the other day that there are few enough "golds" that I can simply ignore them. I only jump people now, instead of waiting on a tile for some gutless wonder of a "gold" to jump my sorry ass. As far as I'm concerned, "golds" don't exist.

Good ideas, but it is kind of hard to have 2 Clerics, 2 DMWs, ect. on a Gray account... every time the server gets "swiped" you lose all your drops. But still good stratagy, not bad.
Radmobile hit it right on the money though, just fight other Greys :D
