new ideas

Name: bear
(beast)
Health: 35
Armor: 10%
Power: 25
Blocking: 30% from front, 15% from sides
Recovery: 1 turns
Movement range: 3 squares
Attack pattern: there bear mauls 1 unit in a square next to his

every 5 rounds that the bear is alive another bear comes to help him, this ability doesnt work for any other summoned bears, so if he summons a bear the bear he summoned and him cant summon a new bear the next round only the origanal can, the summoned bear appears on an adjecent square to the bear

a large brown bear that moves on all fours

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok heres my idea for a bard

Name: Bard
(human)
Hit Points: 30
Power: ---
Armor: ---
Movement Range: 3
Recovery Time: 1
Blocking: 30% front, 15% sides

attacking pattern: the bard is used to give the other units sum motivation, he would play sum insturment, like a loot, or flute, or sumthin and when he focused all units on urteams motivation is boosted and they gain +10% to block, +2 power, +10% to hit an opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

old ideas

humans

fencer
(Human female)
Hit Points: 35
Power: 13
Armor: 10% (leather)
Movement range: 3
Recovery Time: 2
Block: 60% front, 30% sides
Attack Pattern: Attacks 1 unit adjacent to him two times in a row

the fencer is a medium sized female warior she wears no armor
and makes 2 rapid attacks she would use sumthing quick like a rapiar, short sword, or maybe a thin longsword
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ninja
(Human male)
Hit Points: 20
Power: 30
Armor: none
Movement range: 5
Recovery Time: 1
Block: 60% front, 30% sides
Attack Pattern: Attacks 1 unit adjacent to him

the ninja is a medium sized male warior he wears a black ninja suit and is sportin' eaither a katana or a ninja-to, he is a good unit to send against a singe enemy that has no back up and take him out but one well placed shot from about any character will prove to be the end of your ninja
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

necromancer
(Human male)
Hit Points: 24
Power: ---
Armor: none
Movement range: 3
Recovery Time: 5
Block: 33% front, 17% sides
Attack Pattern: summons a zombie with the following statistics

zombie (ooo spooky)
(undead)
Hit Points: 16
Power: 13
Armor: none
Movement range: 2
Recovery Time: 1
Block: ---
Attack Pattern: Attacks 1 unit adjacent to him

the necromancer will be a medium sized human figure with a hooded robe which would be... lets say red, he can summon zombies which are practically cannon fodder but if unchecked they could be a devastating part of an enemies forces, i was thinking of having him bring back dead people from your team then i though forget that crap thats way to powerful
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

siege engines

ballista
(siege engine)
Hit Points: 50
Power: 30
Armor: none
Movement range: 1
Recovery Time: 4
Block: 80% front, 80% sides, 80% back
Attack Pattern: Attacks 8 unit adjacent to him.

the ballista is just like a giant crossbow with wheels its fairly heavily armored and has very slow movement its a good unit to keep in the back and take out targets from afar.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

catapult
(siege engine)
Hit Points: 50
Power: 35
Armor: none
Movement range: 1
Recovery Time: 4
Block: 70% front, 70% sides, 70% from behind
Attack Pattern: Attacks 5 unit adjacent to him. (special)

when the catapult attacks it shoots a rock up into the air off the screen it hits in a + hit like the pyromancer but it doesnt hit untill the next round so its good to use against strong opponents who just went if the opponent left then it just hits and no one takes ne damage and if ne of the people of ur team come into range they get hit.

the catapult is a large wooden seige engine that can launch a large boulder threw the air cossing a massive amount of damage to who ever cant get out of the way

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

contraptions

confusion ward
(contraption)
Hit Points: 35
Power: ---
Armor: none
Movement range: ---
Recovery Time: 4
Block: 100% all sides
Attack Pattern: Attacks 1 unit within 5 squares of him

this contraption targets 1 singe unit and focuses on him as long as its focused the unit is confused and attacks the closest unit and attacks it to the death (including the confusion ward), once the ward becomes unfocused the unit returns to normal, if the unit kills its target it continues to the next closest unit
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

other races

Name: sylvan mage
Life:24
Attack Power: 0
Armor: 0
Blockage: 20 Front 10 Sides
Movement: 3 Squares
Recovey: 3 turns
Abilitys: Summons a young Tree up to 3 squares away

the sylvan mage would be an elven mage dressed in green robes, or plants or sumthin i dont really care

tree
Life:30
Attack Power: ---
Armor: 15%
Blockage: 60% all around
Movement: ---
Recovey: ---

its a tree...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

beasts

plague rat
(beast)
Hit Points: 35
Power: 13
Armor: 5% thick hide
Movement range: 3
Recovery Time: 2
Block: 30%front, 15%sides
Attack Pattern: Attacks 1 unit adjacent to him (disease)

the plague rat is a giant 5 foot long rat covered in all sorts of diseases, if bitten by the rat u catch a disease, lowering ur power by 3, ur blocking by 10%, and does 2 points of poison damage at the begging of each round affects last until healed by a cleric or any other healing unit, effect is stackable
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so thats the end of them, please rate them and tell me how i can make them better

how would the confusion ward work if an affected unit was adjacent to 2 or more units?

ok so tell me wut u think once ur done reading

Just to give you a hint, the blocking from the sides is ALWAYS (unless there is a special case) is half the blocking from the side.
The bear:
- blocking in front 40% and side 20% would make more sense.
- by being a beast does this count as 2 units? If it's 1 it is to powerful, if 2 then it is not powerful enough.
- Interesting idea! I like the summoning thing. but where would the new bear appear when it is summoned? this would make a big difference.

Bard:
- again about the blocking thing at the top.
- neat idea!
- I think that plus 4 for power might be a bit much...maybe not.
- you should increase the recovery time to like 3-5 and then give him more armor or health to even it out and make him last a bit longer.

Fencer:
- ooh a female!
- good idea for a double attack
- a melee should have more health/armor to make it last (especially with a recovery time of 2). Give it some, and then lower the power to like...12-13

Ninja:
- seriously, people won't take this unit because it dies so fast. It's like a suicide unit.... or maybe that's just me.
- other than that it's pretty well balanced I think

Necromancer:
- raise his hp to 24 or more, he dies to fast and he will be taken out quick.
- raise the zombies hp to 16 (more than the pyro's attack) because with a movement range of 2 it won't be getting anywhere fast especially since the necromancer will be stuck in the back for protection.
- nice try to make a hard-to-make unit
- where do the zombies spawn?
- same thing about blocking...

For all siege units:
- to make them more realistic, make them count as two units I think.
- to make it more realistic the siege units should only be able to face or move in the same turn, not both. Or some special rule like that.
- to make it more realistic make the blocking the same all around

Ballista:
- raise the HP to at least 50
- is it blocked by line of sight? big big big difference!

Catapult:
- raise HP to at least 50 again
- definitely lower the power to like 25, because it is a spread attack. usually boulders roll, not explode or whatever your bolder does. Make it cover an area of 3 squares in a line. and because of this you should lower the range to like 3-4
- I like the delayed damage thing

Confusing Ward:
- too powerful, you take over another guy's unit! but good idea.
- when does they controlled unit go? at the begging of your turn?

Sylvian Mage:
- put the health at 24 (to be consistent with low health units like the cleric)
- and what would this tree do?
- a range of 3 is low
- nothing right now is convincing me that this unit is useful

Plague Rat:
- take away the "effects last until healed". It puts to much strain on an already strained cleric.
- raise it's health to at least 35 to make it last long enough to reach an enemy.
- if you didn't already guess, make the effects stack with each attack
- lower the poison damage to 1 per turn, the power decrease by 2.
- lower the recovery rate to 1 to make it last longer.

That's it thank god.:)

ok the purpose of the ninja is to take out a character thats all alone like a mage who just attacked u, u could run up take him out then get out of there

penguin taco
12-03-2003, 08:20 PM
oya and the confusion ward u dont take control of the target, the target attacks the closest thing to it whether its on ur team or not

respected55
12-03-2003, 08:22 PM
who would take a unit that would just be used to finish guys off when you could take one that could actually survive? I say keep the movement at 5, raise the HP, and lower the power. But whatever:)

penguin taco
12-03-2003, 08:26 PM
well the ninja is for a change in tactics, lets say a knight takes 3 hits from another knight to kill him but with the ninja it could take 1 hit from knight and 1 hit from knight, so u attack the knight with another knight and keep moving past enemy lines, u move ninja up to finish off the knight and then u move him back or wut ever

oya and sorry about how i made a bunch of posts in a row

respected55
12-03-2003, 08:29 PM
i guess the ninga will be fine, but whatever.
But the ward is still to powerful because you'll never use it when you'r unit is closest, but (again) whatever.

penguin taco
12-03-2003, 08:35 PM
so ull never use ur black magic witch when ur characters in line, if the opponent just want to go a little coo-coo he'll stay out of the range, or keep all his other characters back so that if the opponent does use it on him u wont attack ur own guy

respected55
12-03-2003, 08:44 PM
It's just like stealing a unit away from the enemy. And it prevents units like dragons and such from comming near it. And it has a range of 5 freakin squares! That could reach into the enemys set up zone if put up front! It would reap havoc among them!, very bad!
o, and can you taget wards with this thing?

penguin taco
12-03-2003, 08:46 PM
ok i suppose wut if i changed range to 3, and no u cant effect wards, how could u confuse sumthing that isnt living so on the same chapter u wouldnt be able to damage undead or any other contraptions or any siege engines
