How many of you guys use public transportation? I love taking the bus at Virginia Tech. It's so much fun when you don't have to worry about driving.
Anyone ever taken a long bus/train ride?
I went through the Chunnel a few years ago. It was a lot of fun.

I guess I should have known something like this was bound to happen. To the point, I don't have a car so I ride the bus to school. Other than that I have to bum a ride from my cousin, friend, or mom. The latter of which isn't as great but is much appreciated. It's amazin how many of you bums take your mums for granted. Shame on you!

I hate riding the bus around here, though I like to when I'm at my aunt's house. I've actually never been on a train :(
Ahem! Thrd, clear out your pm box!! I don't know why it's so full... ;)

To School: Walk to bus stop, Catch bus to train station, Catch train into town, either wait for bus or walk up the hill to school. Same the other way. Takes a whole hour to get there. Either that or I drive to school...
Trains are so much better then buses. We have parties and stuff and when noone else is on the carriage we play cricket (a game most of you guys wouldn't know) in the isles.

I just had to take the mickey out of that other thread.
Yeah, trains are awesome. Public transportation in England (and Europe for that matter) is a lot different than here in the States. Everything is closer across the pond, so the buses and trains go everywhere.

I've taken several long (2-3 day) scenic train rides. You get a little space to yourself with bunks and if you manage to reserve an entire section with people you know, it can be very cool.
I love long train rides and prefer them to airplanes as long as I have company for the ride.

Company makes any long trip worth it. In fact, when going somewhere with friends, I always seem to enjoy the trip there more than the actual vacation itself.

I used to use the public transportation service. Then I got a carpool. Then I got a car. Then I moved to Santiago for 3 months and used public transportation again (awesomest bus system in the world, in case anyone ever needs to know.) Then I came back home and drove, but since then my car has broken down 2 or 3 times, so I had to ride the bus to the college during those wretched, yet blessedly few weeks. Then I stopped listening to yankovich so much. Though I admit, I relapse.

I've never been really big on public transportation but I've honestly never had the need for it seeing as how the city I live in is no where near the size of some place like Atlanta where it's almost necessary to use public transportation. I prefer to ride my bike whenever I get the chance.

The subway system in Montreal is awesome. And while I don't care much for busses, the precision with which they arrive is uncanny at times.
Public transit where I am now (Aurora, a suburb above Toronto) is crap. I hate it and avoid it whenever possible.
The longest train ride I've ever been on is the Montreal to Toronto overnight. Almost 9 hours... but it does stop for awhile so I don't know how much that counts.
