For about three months, this thing has been popping up randomly on my computer. I'll just be doing anything, it doesn't matter what, and it pops up. Here's a screenshot:
http://img39.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img39&image=Bannerp.jpg
If you can't read it, it says "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."
So does anyone here know how to stop it? I can't figure out how. So if you know, please post.

Looks like spyware, adware or a virus. Run a virus scan and get Adaware and run it. Also, do a search for "rng.exe" on your hard drive and see what kind of results you get. It might be as easy as uninstalling a program from the Control Panel.

Or go look it up on google to see what it is.

Your computer is probably a Dell.
Go to add/remove programs, and uninstall any Dell Support programs you see.
Also you may want to look in your registry, just to make sure it dosen't try to run it anyways.
Go to start -> Run, type in 'regedit' Navigate as follows, I don't know if this is the exact path, but it's pretty close
EDITED: HKEY_LOCALMACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> MICROSOFT -> WINDOWS -> CURRENTVERSION -> RUN
Delete any values referring to rng.exe
EDIT: Also, consider this as well

I can get as far as software. When I look for Windows all I can find is 'Windows 3.1 Migration'. And their is nothing in it that says rng.exe. The closest thing to that is 'REG.DAT' -and- 'REG.SZ'.
So if you could provide anymore help, Xerent, that'd be great.
Thanks.

In the registry editor there should be a search function. Search for "rng.exe" and delete values.
You should probably export your registry first to back it up, because if you screw it up then your computer becomes unbootable.

Plus, I really, really, really appreciate the help, but I'm like an eighty year old on Lost in Space. I have no idea how to use any technology. So if you could be more descriptive, and guide me like Xerent did, I'd appreciate it.

Do a Google search for "Lavasoft" and download the Anit-Spyware/Ad-ware program. Run it, and then Quarantine all those little buggers.

I have Ad-ware, I've run it multiple times. Doesn't help. I've also virus scanned, disc cleanup, ect... So far nothing works.

Sorry, I reversed that bit, it should be Software -> Microsoft -> Windows , not Windows -> Microsoft
