    Question Taoist

    TAOIST
    Heh this unit has the best name in TAO for a reason, it perhaps is the most versatile unit out there! It straddles the divide between mele and spellcaster quite nicely....using both of the classes positive traits.

    TAOISTS STATS
    HP:38
    POWER:18 (unblockable to one adjacent unit)
    ARMOR:12%
    BLOCKING:60%
    MOVEMENT:3 or (4)
    RECOVERY:1


    SPECIAL
    This unit also has an ability that i want to incorparate into tao (i have mentioned it before), the BIND ability. Whenever a mele unit succesfuly attacks the taoist, he wraps their sword,spear,or whatever mele weapon they attack him with up in his prayer beads, the attacking unit now cannot 1. move away 2. block ensuing attacks.
    for 1 turn.

    Now this unit is balanced!

    I think I've seen this unit before even with the special ability. The part of the special stating that the unit can't move the next turn is unneed as the attacking unit would be recovering anway. The only benefit the ability actually has is not allowing the attacking unit to block for one turn.

    Actually, I think this is purely a melee unit, with some anti-blocking capabilities. Spellcasters are good for their attack patterns as much as for their unblockability, and this has the attack pattern of the knight.

    I think this is unbalanced purely because it has an advantage over so many units. This unit will beat a scout, knight, assassin, beast rider, mud golem... any damage unit but the dragon, in fact, one-on-one. This is because of its superior blocking. I suggest offsetting unblockability with either low movement (the standard way) or low blocking (his blocking is a big advantage, considering that no enemy units block with him around).

    What if i dropped the power to 18? ( i too kinda seen that the taoist had a distinct advantage.

    it's either 18 power or....... 38 hp (THEN IT CAN BE KILLED IN 2 KNIGHT HITS)
    BLOCKING....good criticism scb you always bring up valid points and it makes my units ultimatly better in the long run ...thanx

    I'd go with both. It will still have an advantage over the assassin and BR.

    That makes it another light speed unit, unique for its unblockability - and still able to take a hit, unlike most mages.

    Way unballanced. Unblockable 20 power with 1 wait time? The KNIGHT is a blockable force at just 22 and one wait time. You sacrifice 2 attack to make his attacks unblockable and call that ballanced? Sorry, doesn't work that way. Oh, and giving him an extra BIND ability on top of that only adds to the unballanced-ness

    Hmm, i say make the damage 20, blockable
    Hits 38 Pretty good idea, i love the lightweight units

    needs a bigger wait turn like a 3 wait turn and i think that would make it a lot less unbalanced

    Hmmm, than it would be completely underpowered that doesnt work @ all, because of how weak it is.
