    Wink Ettin

    These are a race of giants that grow very strong very fast, unfortunatly it takes these giants decades to reach the mental acutity of a small child, and perhaps 100 years to reach the capacity of an adult human.

    That being said they are horribly exploited when they are young, often turned into slaves or mercilessly slaughtered when befriended.
    The ettins do however share a psychic link that enables them to communicate with eachother without the humans knowing.....ELDER ETTINS are especialy dangerous because they have human capacities and hundreds of years of knowledge they can pass onto and share with the younger ettins.trouble is the young ettins minds are weak and can only grasp simple concepts.


    ETTIN:


    ETTIN STATS:

    HP:59
    POWER:25
    ARMOR:8%
    BLOCKING:10% (too slow to block well)
    RECOVERY:3
    MOVEMENT:3
    TARGET: (2 space LOS) aka can hit diagonal. "kbholen1 is right."

    SPECIAL: when opponent blocks the ettins attack, that unit cannot block for 1 turn ( due to the fact blocking the ettins attack is strength draining)

    IT HITS OPPONENTS WITH A LARGE IRON BALL (meant to contain it..aka shackles)

    So unreducable 25 damage? at 2 range, that's more than devastating. Not much is special, not much tactical usage of it. Just rush up, take them out

    No the damage is not "unreducable", my wording was misleading *edited* .
    25 armor reducable

    THE SPECIAL SIMPLY MEANS if the opponent BLOCKS the attack, the opponent will not be able to block for 1 turn due to the fact that BLOCKING the attack has sapped it's strength.

    great 4 turts because this unit can hide behind knights, and hit aproaching enemies on the DIAGONAL! it will either do the 25 damage-or if attack is blocked , make the unit unable to block next turn!

    I could tweak it a bit more, perhaps drop attack to 24, range to 1(los), hp to 52, armor to 10% and recovery to 2...... and keep special....that way it would be used like a berserker!

    THIS is my aim here, for it to be a support unit, like- berserker- 4 -berserker!
    hee hee.

    It could soften up a knight by making him BLOCK and then the knight will not be able to block for one turn....ripe for a berserker shot (stun)
    i'm hoping for support unit status here.

    The diagonal in the game is 2 squares from the unit, so in order to hit diagonally it needs at least a range of 2. 1 range means only the 4 tiles in the cardinal directions. It's a simple rule of the game, don't see why this unit should change it.

    My reasoning for this is so it can play behind knight walls better. (great knight rush stopper)
    My other reasoning is that it has a ball n chain, so it can whip it around and hit in all directions 1 square (los)
    besides 3 move and 2 range with 25 power is a nasty reach! otherwise i would have kept to the rules about the 2 range. but as i always say rules are meant to be broken!



    But then again KB your suggestion only makes my unit stronger so... if i loved this unit i would take your suggestion.........

    Also with the diagonal hit it will be able to hit opponents it normaly could not reach, attack a dragon tyrant from an angle so it will simply not have to "trade" shots with it. (aka make the tyrant move to hit it as not to allow the DT to get hit /shoot fireball/ and retreat) It also could hit "soft" targets behind knight walls, if lucky enough to make it down to an opponents cleric, it will simply obliterate the cleric and send him to heaven ooogh yeagh!

    both this unit and a DT could pose a double threat to any unit within their range of destruction.

    And these two units advancing upon a cleric is to be mightily feared.
    3 wait for 25 blockable damage at 2 range is fair... i mean a DMW can do the same with unblockable!
    this unit just lasts aproximatly twice as long in a game!

    It wasn't really a suggestion. I wasn't commenting on your unit, or whether it needed the extra range, simply that range 1 does not include the diagonals, but way to go overboard.
