    NAGA (re-done)

    The Naga



    When someone mentions the Nagas name many words to describe them come to mind, intensly fierce, uncannily elusive, and magicaly dominant come to mind.

    These creatures believe they rule all that is magical, in fact they believe they are the ones that gave birth to the magical arts. They boast many atributes that human spelcasters do not, and they loyaly guard these abilities so as to not have the human attain them.


    Naga's Stats
    HP: 43
    POWER: 14 (7)
    ARMOR: ( dampens magic attacks by 40%)
    BLOCKING: 0%
    MOVEMENT:4
    RECOVERY:2
    RANGE:4 ( straight line)

    What is unique about this unit is it's ability to dampen magical attacks. Since they are masters in the magical arts, they are able to cushion the magical spells directed at them ( only offensive spells, not poison,quake, or freeze spells)
    Basicaly this unit is like an unblockable scout that hits one unit for 14 damage, then the next ones surrounding for 7 dmg.

    It may not seem like much, but it all adds up in the long run, paired with a mud golem you could easily dispatch any nasty mage bomb.

    I think this is a decent unit, nothing special, but able to kill spellcasters easily, even DT'S dont stand a chance against this puppy!
    * every additional naga on field increases their power by +1*
    A group of these nasties say 3 could do some serious killing against mage bombs........stone em,and sendem in against a spellcaster army.

    some tweakage is still required i will play with this some more.

    Do you see how UBER WEAK this unit is against knights?

    Too powerful. With 3 on the field, pyromancers are obsolete - these have better HP, armor vs. magic, better movement and range, faster recovery, and with 3 on the field, more power on the central tile.
    Ideas I've had for new units for TAO:
    Warlock - tricky but effective at stacking damage
    Lifecrystal - it's a Doppelganger Ward!
    Doppelganger - shapeshifts into any unit, with certain limitations
    Illithid - barrier breaker with a decent telekinetic attack

    This unit is overpowered. Good thing you realize you still need some tweaking.

    Very true. more versatile Pyro's, and three of them given to golds wouldn't happen. I love the presenation though.

    I don't think it is over powered. I like the unit.

    Who uses 3 pyros? I just don't think there will ever be three of them on one field.

    I think this unit is very balanced, it dies in 2 knight hits, and you will always have 100% hit rate with mele units, it's very weak against any mele charaters.

    It will always lose to a lone scout,knight,beast rider,berserker, mudd golem, or the assassin.


    Against any spellcasters (not including frosty or enchantress) the naga is almost certainly favored.

    It owns pyros,dsm's,dark magic witches, and most likely destroys the dragon tyrant.

    It takes 6 turns for the naga to destroy a dragon tyrant 68-12=6 turns to kill

    Now the naga on the other hand can withstand 3 tyrant blasts due to it's magic buffering abilities.
    43- 14( thats 40% of the 28)43-14-14-14=42 thats leaves the naga with 1 hp

    So 4 hits with a DT to kill a naga
    And 6 hits with a naga to kill a tyrant.

    Due to the nagas range and faster recovey he will beat a tyrant 1 on 1 all day.

    So you can see the naga is capable of killin mages easily 1 on 1 but if you realy think about it, the damage done by the naga is seriously negated by a cleric heal, and if you have just one mele charater within range of the naga.....the naga is pretty much meat.

    balanced IMO, pyro's would not become obsolete because of their DSM power leeching ability, they are able to inflict more damage to the opponents plus shoot over units which the naga cannot.

    If it can kill a DT, I have to say its kinda overpowered. Other than that, ROFL IT IS NOT OVERPOWRED!!! Wow.... seriously
