    Hero

    This unit is a warrior of legend, he has rallied many an army into battle showing courage under trying circumstances and unbeleivable odds.
    He is a mighty warrior and a great tactician.. anyone who fights by his side is filled with inspiration and courage.



    HERO STATS
    HP:46
    POWER:19
    ARMOR:25%
    MOVEMENT:3
    BLOCKING:65%
    RECOVERY:1 (2 for heroic stance)
    RANGE:1
    SPECIAL ATTACK: (focus AURA spell increases freindly units damage output +2 on tile closest to hero and +1 on the 2nd tile away from the hero.


    The hero is not realy that powerful on his own, but due to his selflessnes and courage he is able to inspire his fellow fighters to greatness.

    What the hero does is raise his mighty sword up in the air and any friendly fighter within 2 tiles recieves a bonus to attack power. Hero cannot move (AND MAINTAIN AURA) while he is in triumphant stance.

    *the first tile closest to the hero recieves +2 to power

    the second tile from the hero gains +1 power.

    Note the HERO is totaly vulnerable when his sword is up in the air thus focus can be broken easily.. so use this special only when you feel it is safe to do such...

    With this ability you can add punch to your scouts shots from inside a turtle.
    Or better yet send in HERO toward a recovering pyro...raise your sword up in the air...wait a turn and fly your DRAGON TYRANT right beside the HERO and you will do 30 DAMAGE!

    *note* your freindly fighters MUST be inside the aura of effect to recieve the bonus to power..if they step 3 tiles away they recieve no bonus to power.

    But the downside is your opponent can break the focus very easily....

    Faulty...but not impractical.

    For one it's well suited for use in turtles (ie defensive forms)
    Its great alongside a cleric since the cleric will be healing for 14 points.
    And any defending knight near the hero will be hitting for 24 damage to any infiltrator gunning for that tasty cleric.

    It is also well utilized in mid skirmish battles..enhancing it's allies striking force.

    The only downfall is it's use in rushes...it's special leaves it wide open to attack....but it's decent blocking,good hit points and high armor make it so you can pick your spots fairly confidently and utilize the special when you see fit.

    I might reduce attack power to 17......just to make it a primary support unit and as a secondary attacker.

    That may be the case coder, i can forsee a powerful pyro huddle......
    but there are several drawbacks here.

    #1) Your hero will have to be able to maintain focus...if he is sucessful in inspiring your fellow units the opponent has the option of hitting your HERO first.... any attack here will break focus.

    #2) To retain that bonus the pyro's cannot move from the radius..otherwise the bonus is lost.....

    I do see your point..but even so if the pyros were in a Vformation with the hero walking in behind and inspiring the pyro's.. the opponent still has the opportunity first to hit the pyro's or squeak in a sneaky scout shot at the hero... not to mention the hurt a MUDD golem could lay down on those pyro's....

    I just might tone down his power to 16!

    it's not new, it's a universal DSM.

    but the fact that they can't leave the aura really brings this unit down. i can only see bombers using this set, and even then, they won't be able to bomb because they really can't move. it seems too weak.

    Then I have to say; This is a crap unit, no real function then. The thing is, if you're chained to a small area, it's a lot easier to beat you. Even turtlers move around. Because the stoner allows for that flexibility. It'd also be completely different from every other every other unit in game, except for the cleric, in only having an affect on Friendly units. All other AoEs affect friend and foe alike.

    I agree, this looks like a well balanced unit. And I could see that seemingly tiny +2 making a huge difference.

    I agree with The Coder: Crap, too unbalanced and hard to use practically, and he is too weak on his own. Excapt for his recovery and armor, nothing good about this unit can be said.

    Nothing good? not even a boost to a cleric heal by +2?

    Now the cleric heals +14 and as long as the hero's focus is not broken he can heal for 14 as long as he wants!

    But i can boost his HP a few more and perhaps give him 19 power to make up for poor stats.

    1 hit killing pyros is not such a bad possibility is it?
    hero stance....DT shot... pyro game over........

    If I may offer a suggestion.

    Maybe a percentage boost would be better? Say a boost of 20% rounded down? It wouldn't need to be 20%.

    Clerics would heal for 14

    lightning wards would zap for 36

    Dark Magic Witches would wammy for 28.

    Pyro Mancers torch for 18

    That might be a better way to do boosting.
