A short time ago, you lived an calm and idyllic life. Then it was disturbed forever--by an invasion of pirates, barbarians, and ravenous, furgon-consuming, festival ruining dragons led by an evil being known only as VEB. But you have spent your time since wisely, gathering a band of like-minded individuals to join you in your cause. You have only one goal in mind: vengeance.
How this works
Your goal is to defeat VEB and its army. But you have to get to him first. To do so, you must fight a series of battles, in order. Battles are represented by mod accounts on Revelation. Each victory will bring you closer to your goal.
READ BELOW CAREFULLY IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS TOURNAMENT.
Starting the Fight
To start, you must send me (The Rules) a PM containing:
1. The identity you choose (see below)
2. Your forum name
3. Your revelations account name
Battles will start today, Friday, at ~3 PM PST.
First, you must choose an identity. Each identity has special powers which can be used a limited number of times on your way to VEB. Your identity will also determine your story.
Identities
1) Royal Officer (Knight) – Enforcer x1, Repel x2, Motivate x 2
2) Outcast Vigilante (Scout) – Intimidate x1, Harden x2, Cease Fire x2
Powers
All powers must be called BEFORE the passing of the end of your turn.
Enforcer: Choose a unit with 0 recovery that your opponent must use their next turn.
Repel: Your opponent may not deal magic damage to your units next turn. (Immune to Pyromancer, Dragonspeaker Mage, Witch, Lightning Ward)
Intimidate: Choose a unit with 0 recovery that your opponent cannot use on their next turn.
Harden: Prevent physical damage (Knight, Scout, Assassin) for one turn.
Cease Fire: Your opponent passes its next turn, then you pass (effectively gives -1 recovery to all units).
Motivate: Guaranteed first turn: If the mod gets first turn, mod passes. If you get first turn, you pass, then mod passes.
You may use a power in any battle unless otherwise specified. Once a power is used, it is gone forever, so choose carefully. Powers do not replenish for every game.
Your Army
At the beginning of your journey you only have access to a small group of trained individuals who share your goal. Prepare a set of seven units from the following pool:
1 knight
1 scout
1 cleric
1 enchantress
1 assassin
2 pyromancers
1 witch
You may change your set for every battle, but you must keep the same units unless you gain additional ones on the course of your quest.
Getting Battles
You must fight the battles in order. The first battle is against the account Pirate Crew. Other opponents will be revealed after you defeat their predecessor.
To get a battle, find your next opponent on the Revelations server and challenge it. Warriors for the menace will post times which they will be on for open challenges.
Winning/Losing Battles
If you lose, you may not play again for 24 hours. You may challenge your opponent again the next day.
If you win, you will be send a PM informing you as to your next opponent. The PM also may contain choices which will affect future battles.
Draws count as your loss.
Victory
The first person to slay VEB will not only get vengeance, but surely find riches behind their wildest dreams. Lesser but still impressive progress will likely be rewarded as well.
Warning
Discard your ideas about the normal rules of TAO! Death is certain without unconventional playing.
Clarifications
You may restart from any point you have reached, as long as you are willing to take the normal losing penalty.
