Damage Calcualtions

Ever though you had a knight finished off, only to see that it survived with 1 hp remaining? If so, this table is for you!

EDIT: I've added the beast rider unit

Code:
Armor 25 18 16 15 12 8 0

Lit Ward 23 25 25 26 26 28 30
Dragon 21 23 24 24 25 26 28
DMW 18 20 20 20 21 22 24
Knight 17 18 18 19 19 20 22
Mud Golem 15 16 17 17 18 18 20
Beast Rider 14 16 16 16 17 17 19
Assassin 14 15 15 15 16 17 18
Scout 14 15 15 15 16 17 18
Pyro 11 12 13 13 13 14 15
The armor of the unit you are attacking is across the top. The unit you are attacking with is listed along the side. For those of you playing with stone golems, here is an expanded table to account for the +30% armor:

Code:
Armor 60 55 48 46 45 42 38 30 25 18 16 15 12 8 0

Lit Ward 12 14 16 16 17 17 19 21 23 25 25 26 26 28 30
Dragon 11 13 15 15 15 16 17 20 21 23 24 24 25 26 28
DMW 10 11 12 13 13 14 15 17 18 20 20 20 21 22 24
Knight 9 10 11 12 12 13 14 15 17 18 18 19 19 20 22
Mud Golem 8 9 10 11 11 12 12 14 15 16 17 17 18 18 20
Beast Rider 8 9 10 10 10 11 12 13 14 16 16 16 17 17 19
Assassin 7 8 9 10 10 10 11 13 14 15 15 15 16 17 18
Scout 7 8 9 10 10 10 11 13 14 15 15 15 16 17 18
Pyro 6 7 8 8 8 9 9 11 11 12 13 13 13 14 15
And, for completeness, a table of armor and hps of the various units:

Code:
            Normal Armor
            Armor +30% HP

Stone Golem 30 60 60
Knight 25 55 50
Lit. Ward 18 48 56
Dragon 16 46 68
Beast Rider 15 45 38
Assassin 12 42 35
Scout 8 38 40
Barrier Ward 0 30 32
Cleric 0 30 24
DMW 0 30 28
Enchantress 0 30 35
Frost Golem 0 30 60
Mud Golem 0 30 60
Pyro 0 30 30
Note that I plugged the armor and damage values into Excel for the calculations, then rounded off with and 0.5 and more going up to 1 and 0.49 and less going down to 0. This seems to be correct; the damage values I remember are right at least. If there are any mistakes, please let me know so I can update the table.

I hope this is useful to people, and maybe even worthy of a sticky!

Thanks; I hope it's useful. I plan to have this open when I play, so I can reference it. In the late game, it can be really important to know if a particular unit is going to die in one hit or two.

This is an excellent and very helpful post for new players. I should probably copy this down, or ask that this topic be made a sticky. *makes puppy eyes at AzN_GuY*

Well if there is no sticky I've always got my handy bookmark... just in case I think I'll copy n paste it too lol. Something like this could help out having strageties that go past just the next few moves so you can figure out how many turns it would take to eliminate units.

While useful, I don't think this is exactly sticky-worthy. I mean, I do just fine with the calculator built-in to Windows open as I play. And when the Scout LoS thing isn't even sticky, despite its uber-usefulness, methinks this can stick around, too.

Yep, I just use my calculator and occasionally reference the Scout Trickshot Compendium forum.

Nice tables though, good work.

Dunbar, i like your style, man. Not too many posts, no spams and stuff. But everything you post is pure GOLD, i LOVE the scout LOS post, and this is always handy too, sometimes doing the math on a calculator can suck, like if you hit the wrong number or something....ahh i hate that..lol

Doubt it'll be a sticky, stickies are only things that all members NEED to see or something close to that, like announcements and tournament info and the like.....

Is it really that hard to remember the table in your head? Maybe that's just me... but still, the damage is a percentage. Armor is all out of 100. If you can multiply and subtract and move things over 2 decimal places, you can get it in your head. I agree though, the LOS thread was damn helpful until I learned them all. Especially the overshoot. Love that

Thanks Aro23r, it's nice to be appreciated

And kyrios24, I agree with you generally. But there are some attacks that are really close...when the math comes out to .48 or .50, it's very difficult to know if your head if it is going to round up or round down. And sometimes, 1 hp can make a big difference.

I agree that it shouldn't get a sticky on it's own, but maybe we should make a useful info thread stickied to the top? It could contain this table, as well as the scout LOS info, and the info on when scout attacks count as front or back. And other overlooked tid-bits, like the fact that a frost golem can interrupt a barriered enchantress, and Seed's advice on melee combat (go for the back for the guaranteed hits!). Then we can just add new information to it as time goes on. That way it's just one stickied thread, rather than several cluttering up the forums.

All that info is old-hat to us regulars I think, but it's always useful for newcomers.

Just a thought
