A Gold Member's Strategy for all the Newbies to See
Since I feel the need to help my fellow man, I shall share my strategy with you new players. (check out my stats on the GL server if you want to see if they work.)
1. Symmetry is BAD. Do not have your whole army spread out evenly in your initial formation. This is bad because you will be spread out too thin when your opponent, who is wiser, will concentrate his forces to one side. Send some serious time to think up a good formation that is both strong, and defensive with the ability to leap out and attack the enemy as he closes in on you. 2. Paralyzing is GOOD. Paralyzing with an enchantress is good (Frost Golem is better, but i guess you guys don't have one.) because it can make sure the enemy unit doesn't block, make sure he can't attack a weak unit on his next turn, or simply stall for time and wait for him to make a mistake. 3. Do not single out the enemy cleric. Go for him if and only if he is able to be killed quickly and efficiently. For example, take him out with a witch if possible, its a good sacrifice. However, if he is embedded deep within the enemy position, attacking only the cleric may not be so wise. 4. Also, just talk to the guy. It makes the game more fun for both of you. DO NOT taunt, trick, or just be a dick to your opponent, just have fun. Besides, the tricking/taunting will get your name mentioned here on the forum and from then on you will be always followed by a bad reputation, until you make a new account. 5. DO NOT EVER press a button or button combination that an opponent tells you to push. It will either, refresh the screen (F5), ending the game, causing you to lose, or just exit the game altogether (alt F4). HOWEVER is you cannot read what is written at the bottom of the screen, and an opponent tells you to press F11, DO press it, as it will help you see the game in fullscreen format. 6. Know the scout LOS. Read up on it in the here http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/sh...5&pagenumber=3 New Section about the buttons on top right of screen. 1. The arrow button is the "Move" button, and is the default button that is activated after you select a unit. 2. If, however, you want to only attack, or just attack first, you can click on the swords, the "Attack" button. 3. If you want to only change direction, click on the compass to do so. NOTE: Doing this will automatically end your turn regardless of what has been done previously on your turn. 4. To end your turn as is, click the hourglass button. This is helpful when worrying about recovery times (See the link below for information about this.) 5. Lastly, if you have given up hope and want to surrender to end the pain quickly, click and hold the flag for two seconds to do so. Check back here every now and then because I may add some things here when I see fit to do so. Check out this link... http://www.tacticsarena.com/forum/sh...Recovery Times I hope my insight has assissted any of you newbies.

Good advice. New players need to be especially careful of people that move the witch to the center to try to zap your cleric. You need to get the cleric to the side or at least put defense in front to prevent a witch from taking it out in the first shot.

these are some good ideas, I would suggest not putting any units that can be killed by the lightning ward in 1 hit near the center of the board, I have lost because of making that mistake in the beginning

I can't think of a good way to finish this off. *sigh* Time to sleep, it would seem. I just want to say that I think this should stay bumped constantly, as it'll really help the noobs out there to get involved in the game with little or no preliminary slaughter. Oh, and I advocate the Scout Trickshot Compendium. I mean, seriously. That or "Scout LOS"... just look at the names of the 2 threads, and you can pick the one that's five times cooler. You know what I'm talking about.
