People that think they're good

I just played a guy named jaboa3 on Banff server.

He was looking for somebody to get his hundredth win from, so I volunteered. I just wanted to print screen the battle to get tips on formation.

Now, this guy who was 99-0-27 had no problem accepting a challenge from somebody who was 1-0-0.
That says something about him right there.

I was doing well, and as we played, the guy starts complaining that "hey, you must have played before". and basically accused me of tricking him, "because I was good".

After a while, he got desperate. I had told him that being my second game on that server, I wasn't sure what a good set up was. He started suggesting I push f5, that would drop another unit into the game for me. He tried this tactic several times. Talk about pathetic.

In the end, it came down to his knight, and my scout. When he killed me, he was right beside my LW.
If he missed, I had him. But to his relief, my scout was lazy, forgot to block, and he got me.
Then he's proud of himself for winning.

What a weiner.

On a side note, his scout probably cost me the game. I took shot after shot at him, he blocked everything I sent his way. Finally killed the little bugger. But if I'd killed him earlier, I'd have been able to take out his last knight a few turns earlier. It was nice to see a lowly scout takin' it and stayin' in the battle. Gives me more confidence in mine now.

But still, he's a buttmunch.

Note to anyone out there who can relate to this:

Shit happens. If a person challenges you who is good, GOOD for you, you only gain talent by going up against a player equal to or better than you.

And please, the F5 thing, c'mon. The best thing to do if someone tells you that, is to say you hit F5 a lot, but nothing happened.

I challenged him so I could see his units.
I didn't realize he'd be such a poor sport.

It was still a fun game.

That f5 scam is lame. I hate the people that use it to trick new players. Crappy thing is that it sometimes works.
Especially on killer_kev, who claims he loses 3 times a night by "accidentally" hitting it.

if you ask me the qualities of a real "good" player is this.
1. (s)he seeks for a challange, but never backs out of one that was given to him.
2. if it was a newbie that challanged him, you try to teach him as you play.
3. (s)he never join a game knowing that the guy is a newb (unless he challanged you)
4. (s)he never brags or uses dirty tricks to win.

He violated most of those. And broke a number of other rules of eticate.
But it's in the past.
Unless he's still doing it.

yeah thse qualities seem to make a good player, also the guy has to be good at the game..playing against the best even if u have no chance is good..since you can learn to be just as good..helping people is always good..bah everyday i get questions on how to play..i always try to answer as well as possible..challengin noobs is the lowest thing to do..using tricks on them even worse..if a noob asks to play u so they can learn then its ok but u help them not jus dismantle em..cuz when u think about it..its better that they get better cuz u get a better challenge later and maybe u get a good game out of it..

i don't know if i agree with the "person can play good"- I'd agree with that if the person lost to a newb and just played his 100th game.

for him to be a good player..he has to be good at the game think about it..take a sport for instance..lets say im awesome at helping others get better at basketball for instance, and also take any challenge that someone offers..but lose all those games am i a good player..same thing goes for this..u gotta be decent at the game along with being able to help others out..and not just picking on newbs, or using tricks to win..

not that i've ever been fooled by this, but what does f5 do anyway? and no wonder peeps wouldn't believe me when i told them to press f11 to make a more manageable screen.

f5 escapes the screen thats up whioch would make u lose
yea i kept telling ppl to use f11 to see the bottom of the screen since i figured it out
ive never been in a game in which sum1 tried to trick m, givn im no noob, but im hoping it doesnt spread

Ah, I've been there my friend. On a side note, spencerwillis is a "butmunch", too. I made one move, he freaks out, tells me to press f5, and then exits after I don't. Grrr.....
