Over the last few months TAO has changed a lot. It has grown, with that a lot of new problems like spammers, support issues and packed servers.

We do feel we have gotten a hold of most of the problems, except the spammers which we deal with daily.

There is 1 ongoing problem however. It’s not the game, server or updates. It’s trolling.

These forum which were once a place for open and free discussion regarding, tao and gaming in general. They have now become a haven for trolls. People that have nothing better to do than complain and complain over anything they can.

This has to stop.

If I see one more [tao admin] sucks thread, post, comment ect... that user will be banned.

If a user complains about the ticket system and can not provide a tracking number to back their claim they will also be banned.

Far too many people like attention and scream and cry like babies for it. Others think there is a real problem and think our system doesn’t work when in fact all that user ever wanted is attention. This cycle will end now.

For the 10 percent of forums this applies to… GET BACK TO GAMING. For the other 90 percent, sorry this has gone on so long.

Consider this everyone’s first, second and last warning on the issue. Trolls have been warned.

Honestly, this is what the game needs right now. I found this game on December 3rd 2003, about a week after it was launched. I'm not directing this response in a negative or offensive way whatsoever, so please don't take it as such. What the community here has been needing is some sort of affirmation that we have not been totally forgotten. Your posting in this thread has done that, even though there seems to be a rash of anger venting occuring too. People on this forum have always loved expressing their anger/opinions in ways such as this. I think what everyone is really upset about is they feel abandoned and neglected, and also, there are some cheaters and spammers in the game itself ruining it for others. If there was a moderator with the ability to ban players from the game, 95% of the complaining will stop. I have seen firsthand the ticket system work. You addressed the issue in my ticket in a timely manner, and I am appreciative of that. I for one really appreciate someone (you) coming in the forums and letting us know someone is still out there behind the scenes. And since I've already given you more than my 2 cents worth, I may as well finish In my opinion, the best choices for forum administrators you could make would be Tama Drummer, Thirdfloormosher, Hugh Junit, or Northwind. These 4 players stand out by far and away for their decency, maturity, and humor. I've never seen inappropriate behavior, or heard of anyone who doesn't like these 4 individuals. I also think they have the maturity to be able to administrate fairly and effectively.

I agree. The negativity on these forums needs to be canned.

I'm still laughing at the term trolling though. It sounds so cute for some reason.

*EDIT* Bills, there is another problem, Catalyst on Army is a known cheater, and desperatly needs his stats reset or account deleted. There is proof of this on these forums . . .

My sister used to have alot of those actually. I doubt she still has them though, she's turning 18 in March. Actually, I haven't seen alot of the stuff I remember from when I was younger. It's like it all just disapeared...


Anyways, Bills, will there be a server wipe soon? And are you the only one that can do server wipes, or can Rebones and Bo1 do that too? I'm just a bit curious. But I figure as long as I'm not a cat, I won't die. Hehe... that's another thing I remember from a while ago. I remember my grandmother telling me curiousity killed te cat. And I also remember her cat, which was named scaredy, er something like that. And I remember liking that cat... and I don't remember it dieing, but it did.

Question... since I only used the ticket system once a way long time ago, by "tracking number" is there a number that you're given when you submit a ticket, or is it something else?

i agree to an extent with bills, there are a lot of attention seekers who will complain no matter what happens. BUT, there are also many people (me included) who think there are some genuine problems with TAO right now, i concur that flaming and whining isnt the way to go about solving this, but bills, you need to recognise that there are problems and try to work with the community to solve them.
