Server Structure / Architecture
Bills may want to tackle this question, though I'm sure other members of the team can answer.
How are the servers structured in relation to each other? Does each server maintain its own database of users and their preferences/unit caches? Or are the servers just for the game and lobby system with a back-end handling data storage and serving info as users log in? If not, is there a way to add additional non-game servers to the mix in order to increase the ability of the actual game servers to handle traffic? Got a Gold account an hour ago, and eagerly awaiting my upgrade - Great Game! |

I don't know, but...
it appears to me that there isn't a shared backend, since logins don't work on other servers, implying they don't connect to one another. That's a sweet idea though, if I'm wrong (it happens occasionally
