Warning: In-game scam

It has come to our attention that a few gold/grey accounts are being used by a bot to attempt to defraud users to visiting www.tao-offert.tk for a Tactics Arena Online subscription at a reduced cost.

Please refrain from visiting the website, and submit a ticket if you feel that your account information has been comprimised. If you have visited the website but not signed up for anything, change your password as a precaution.

We are working to figure out the person behind this scam, if you have any information that may help us, please contact Serg or any moderator.

Email abuse@altervista.it

The account goldfree.altervista.org is where the scam is hosted at.

Also, notify Paypal immediately. Since someone is taking emails and passwords, their scam department will shut the site down faster than you can think.

Shutting down a fake scamming site wouldn't suck for the people who actually care about this game, I think you misread Jeff's post.

BTW, I have notified Paypal, as well as altervista, although I still suggest someone from TAO does as well. If altervista doesn't cooperate quickly, I can arrange for cotice to ICANN as well.
The ICANN trick worked well when Yahoo ignored the original warning about Artifice. Then it was ICANN to Melbourne IT, who then contacted Yahoo, who immediately negated the registry for the site.

Has already been done. I told you we're working to find those responsible/correct the issue.
