ATTN: Rep Boosters
It's no longer tolerated on this site. Though many of us agree rep is frivolous, it is still a form of boosting that we do not want to promote.
Now that the newest version of vbulletin is released, we also have the ability to track Rep boosters much easier. Obviously, the line for rep boosting, just like stat boosting, can be somewhat blurry--but people who do it in excess are easily caught (like: finding reps between the same group of 7 people three times a page). So, basically, rep boost at your own risk. Known accounts that were involved in the boosting have been reset to zero. If it continues, you risk banning. Accounts that are never used and obviously used for boosting purposes only have been banned. If your account was hijacked for boosting purposes, or your account has been banned and you wish it to reopen with the promise of not abusing the reputation system, you may contact me. Do not abuse the system. This "rep group" is huge, and I've had enough of it. People on severe watch run the risk of getting reset at any time if it is abused any more. If you are on watch but have not done anything wrong, don't worry: you won't get banned unless wrong behavior starts to be recorded. Watch is simply a list for me to keep track of. If you do have affiliations with this "rep group," even if you are not listed, I would recommend breaking those ties. I will be tracking these DAILY. Please don't abuse the systems that we implemented for use in good spirits. We will track you. That's all. meat.eater

So why are we just resetting some people and not everyone exactly? It seems like it would be a lot easier to reset everyone.
