over the past month ive lost over 100pt because of disconections alone from newbs that i could of easily beat that had 750 ratings that took of like 40 pt a loss.... if there is any way that this can be prevented or repaired please inform me....... im guessing u just cant give my the pts back but thats ok but im realy mad and playing isint that fun with my new problem

Well since a 1250 rated player who loses to a 500 rated player only losed 22 points I doubt you lost 40 points a loss.

if this is a recent thing i suggest u look at ur ISP to see if they have been having problems lately

The problem is probably your internet company (i.e. Comcast, Netzero, AOL, etc..) crapping out on you at the second where the game was transferring information to your computer.

Yup, and the reason for this is the fact that the game must maintain a steady link between you, your opponent, and the game server. When you disconnect out of a game, it is usually because your local provider had a "hiccup" along the way. The 'Net as a whole can also hiccup, causing your connection to be lost.
Some games are not affected because they can resync you with the game server (ie StarCraft and the such)
Games like this and muds as well do not have the coding, nor the server power, to do this. There is nothing that can be done by the game to solve this without an almost 100% rebuild of the coding, and the purchase of real powerful servers.
